With an electrical strength of 300 volts per mil of thickness and at 10 mil thick, it is suitable for applications less than about 3000 volts. The product comes in a compact, tightly-wound roll without a central core/tube, and for planar applications, it needs to be unrolled and flattened. Users have suggested hanging it with weighted clips for about 24 hours to achieve the desired flatness. The paper is semi-flexible and can be cut with a razor blade, however, it does not come with adhesive pre-applied. Customers have remarked that they wished it had adhesive backing.
