PhosThis is a phosphate solution that helps retain natural juices and increase yield in your meat, fish, poultry, or seafood. This product is not a tenderizer but it does make your final product juicier. It comes in pure phosphate form without MSG or other additives that you may not want in your product. It is flavourless and can be used in marinades, injections, or soaking. The ratio of phosphate to injection is 1% to 2%. The amount of liquid will vary depending on the size of the meat, and it can go up to a quart of liquid for a 5-pound brisket. Customers generally found PhosThis useful for meat, especially during smoking, but others weren't happy with the results. There were comments about the product being completely flavourless and doing an excellent job of retaining moisture in cooked/smoked sausages. Many were happy to support the family business. Some users noticed the difference when they compared two pork chops – brined one with PhosThis and the other without.
