They are designed to prevent fingers from accidentally getting caught in the fan and also to give a more polished look to the case. These metal grill guards are correctly sized and manufactured, with a good paint coating that looks good on any cabinet. They’re easy to install with screws provided, although some customers found the screws to be flimsy and ended up substituting them with regular nuts/bolts. Overall, this product is a good buy and works well for intended use.
