Designed to handle up to 256 meters on 4000 feet of twisted pair wire, this converter utilizes the robust and reliable FTDI chip, making it easier to use compared to other options in the market. The terminal blocks may be small, but all you need is a tiny flat head screwdriver to securely tighten them. What sets this new model apart is its transparent case, allowing for a visual indication of successful meter reads.
A red blinking LED bulb will flash with each successful read, providing you with instant feedback on your metering activities. To get started, simply download and install the USB driver, ensuring a seamless connection between the converter and your computer. Refer to the Communication Diagram to understand how the USB converter can be connected to up to 256 meters. Rest assured, this converter is compatible with all our RS-485 smart meters, including our v.2 smart meters, v.3 Omnimeters, and the new Omnimeter Pulse v.4.
