- The DBX 286S Mic Pre-amp Processor combines 4 separate analog processers into one convenient, great sounding easy to use channel strip.The 286S mic preamp features a wide-ranging input-gain control, switchable +48v phantom power for your condenser mics and an 80Hz high-pass filter helping to cut out any low frequency hum and rumble.DBX's famous and patented OverEasy compressor is the next stage of processing. DBX OverEasy is known for its smooth, transparent leveling of the audio signal and its simple controls. You can dial in a subtle, transparent amount of compression or set to stun for an obvious in-your-face treatment of the audio. Next up is the frequency tunable De-esser. It helps to eliminate vocal sibilance and high frequency distortion from instruments. You can add some definition, high-end sparkle and low frequency detail to your signal by dialing in the Enhancer HF Detail control. It enables you to add some depth to vocals and bass while it cleans up muddy low-midrange frequencies. Adjust to taste!Rounding out the individual processors of the DBX 286S Mic Pre-amp Processor is the Expander/Gate.
