atbildi: Sorry, I know nothing about Plastazote. You certainly can do those things you want with the cutter. Take a look at Gerard Boom from the Netherlands. He's got a slew of tutorials showing the many tricks you can perform. https://www.shiftinglands.com. He also sells some nifty tools that make it all pretty easy. Cheers John -

atbildi: The hot wire cutter has its own 240volt power supply built into its base. There is no need to buy a separate power supply. John -

What type of foam does this Proxxon cut?
atbildi: I've used styrofoam and polystyrene on mine, but as long as it's a thermoplastic it should work, just check if the material you want to use has a low flash point or gives off toxic fumes when melted. -

atbildi: Yes, it comes with an English manual/instructions. It was fairly easy as I did it the same day I got it within 15 minutes. -

atbildi: The one I got came with a UK Adapter. You just plug the 2 pin connector into the UK connector and you're ready to go. -

Will this cut adhesive-backed open cell foam (1-5mm thick) with the paper back still on?
atbildi: Hotwires only cut polystyrene. They will not cut other materials such as paper. -
