Although it does not have a platform to elevate the bin, the bin can be elevated by other means if needed. The bin is made of heavy plastic and users have not had any problems with critters getting into it. The product does not come with a nozzle or a basin to collect the liquid. The small doors on the sides of the bin can open up, and some users have had difficulty turning the compost over and recommend a turning composter.
